CREATING STUD EARRINGS

Making stud earrings instead of dangles is easy with the right earring findings.  Now they make the wire stud already attached to a base plate. You no longer need extremely steady hands or the tool named third hand. Start by cleaning the metal blanks that you want to add the studs to. TEXTURING IS FUNDAMENTAL

FIRST THINK ABOUT TEXTURE In most jewelry lessons, books and tutorials, texturing is covered near the end of the  lesson. I think this is a mistake, if you’ve done all the forming and soldering and basically finished your project, it’s too late to think about texturing.  TEXTURING NEEDS TO BE DONE ON A FLAT PIECE OF METAL. There are more jewelry tools than you can imagine. And certainly more than you can store, much less afford.  But most of these tools are for very advanced techniques or for professional jewelers.
